Nut Butters

Walnut, Almond, Peanut, Hazelnut, cashew… WHATEVER kind of nut you want for your nut-butter… all you have to do is pour your desired amount of raw nuts into you food processor, and process! That’s it!

So easy, it will take about 10 minutes… that’s it! You’ll have to stop frequently to mix the bottom layer with top and push down the sides, but just keep going, I swear it is worth it!

Once you start making your own butters, you won’t go back. Seriously.  I put my homemade nut butters in everything I make pretty much… smoothies, cakes, pies, tarts… just smudged all over a banana or pear or apple… whatever!

Try combining different types of nuts, or adding cinnamon! YUM!

To make a cookie-butter just choose your nut flavor, and mix up that butter. Next, melt about 1/4 cup 1/2 Cup of raw cacao butter on a double boiler and mix that in with your nut butter along with a tablespoon of cacao powder, a tablespoon of lucuma or maca powder, 2 teaspoons of cinnamon… and some chocolate chips… and bam! delicious cookie-butter. Also, you could throw in some stevia if you like it really sweet, maybe some agave and/or coconut oil. YUM, I’m getting hungry just writing about it!

The cacao butter will provide that silky smooth texture you’re looking for and keep this stuff creamy.

*When I get impatient with making almond butter I’ll add just a little scoop of coconut oil to help smooth/speed things along. It works pretty well, but still, you’ll have to have patience.
